Running a business is hard enough without your finances being a mystery.
I work with business owners who want their books in order, their financials to actually make sense, and someone in their corner who can explain what the numbers mean — not just produce them.
If you have ever wondered why your business shows a profit but your bank account tells a different story, that is exactly the kind of problem I help solve.
WHAT I DO
Monthly Accounting & Advisory
Full accounting cycle management (ongoing bookkeeping), financial statement compilations, and a regular conversation about what your numbers are telling you — not just what they say, but what they mean for your business. Price based on your business size and complexity.
Business Tax Compliance & Returns
Business tax filings (sales, use, property, payroll, and other taxes) — keeping you current and penalty-free throughout the year. For ongoing bookkeeping clients I also prepare business and personal tax returns, so your year-end filing is a natural extension of the work already done — accurate, timely, and without the last minute scramble. Personal return preparation is available for straightforward situations.
Project & Cleanup Work
Books behind? Just getting started? Need a financial diagnostic before a big decision? I also take on one-time accounting and finance projects — cleanups, reconciliations, and anything else that needs a senior set of eyes. We scope it together before we start so there are no surprises.
Sale & Exit Readiness
Thinking about selling — this year or down the road? Buyers pay more for a business that's clean, documented, and doesn't depend on its owner to run. I get you there. On the financial side: several years of consistent statements, earnings normalized so a buyer sees true profitability, and a due-diligence package organized so questions get answered fast instead of stalling the deal. And working alongside an experienced HR director, we document how the business actually runs — roles, processes, the knowledge that currently lives only in your head — so a buyer sees something that keeps going the day after you hand over the keys. I work with your broker and attorney, not in place of them. The earlier we start, the stronger your position.
Work is primarily done remotely. In-person meetings are available for Kansas City area clients.
IS THIS A FIT?
You might be a good fit if:
You are a business owner who knows the numbers exist but does not fully understand them
Your books are behind or disorganized and you are not sure where to start
You are profitable on paper but cash always feels tight
You want a real accountant — not just software — someone who picks up the phone.
